The Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Sadanandapuram, Kottarakkara under KAU, was established in 1994. It is situated 32 kms away from the Kollam Railway station and its geographical location is 8.99° N 76.82°E. It is the linkage between the University and stakeholders in agriculture, most importantly the farmers, in Kollam district. The prime objective of this KVK is the transfer of technology coupled with evaluation refinement of proven technologies to suit the site specific farming situation. The KVK attempts to increase the net returns to farmers and also self employment opportunities among farming communities. The mandate of the station is to impart training and conduct On Farm Trials and Front Line Demonstrations for technology dissemination.
